Taking a trip to trace your family’s lineage is all the rage right now. Not just following on the trend but taking it one step further, TCS World Travel partnered with genealogists Heritage Consulting to create customized “Legacy Journeys.”
After the genealogists do their research, a new Heritage Concierge will work with the travelers to create an itinerary filled with custom experiences designed to connect guests with their family tree, from meeting distant cousins in an ancestral village to following in a great-grandparent’s footsteps to the fields or factory where they worked. (Should someone already have a detailed report on their family tree, they can skip right to the Heritage Concierge.)

TCS World Travel says example itineraries might include visiting a temple in Asia where your great-great-grandparents were married and recreating the wedding celebration; taking a Scottish Highlands distillery tour, followed by bottling a custom whisky blend; or taking a cooking class with a local chef in the Russian village where your great-grandmother grew up.
TCS suggests opting for a local guide who can take guests to experience the best that a destination has to offer in modern times as well, from street food to fine dining, local artisans and markets, historical landmarks and more. Anna Hawley ([email protected]), heritage concierge, is the VIP contact for luxury travel advisors.
