COMO Hotels & Resorts has announced the upcoming opening of COMO Alpina Dolomites, a luxury year-round resort located in northern Italy’s South Tyrol, on December 7, 2023.
Situated among the Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, the resort is located in Val Gardena on the Alpe di Siusi, one of Europe’s largest high-altitude plateaus. Set within a landscape characterized by peaks, valleys and alpine meadows, the resort has 60 rooms with views of some of the most famous peaks in the Dolomite Mountain range.
On the adventure front, pistes beckon, with Val Gardena being an integral part of the Dolomiti Superski circuit. The ski-in/ski-out resort offers the guidance of instructors for both off-piste experts and novices. For those looking to venture beyond the slopes, the area also offers a range of year-round activities—from hiking and mountain biking in warmer seasons to snowboarding and cross-country skiing in winter.
Guests can choose from a range of dining options, including the bright and casual Alpina Chalet or the intimate Mountain Restaurant, which is dedicated to the art of healthy dining by COMO Shambhala Cuisine. The Lobby Lounge is the perfect setting for drinks and light bites as well as complimentary daily Afternoon Tea.
Holistic wellness is one the core pillars of the COMO’s properties, and that’s no different here. COMO Shambhala Retreat offers an expansive wellness program that includes a 72-foot indoor pool, a 23-foot outdoor pool, sauna, relaxation zones, a fitness center and a beauty sanctuary.
Natural materials have been chosen for the building, and the resort seamlessly integrates with its surroundings. The facade is built using quartzite, while the roof is embraced by a wooden structure. COMO Alpina Dolomites marks the brand’s fifth European venture and its 18th establishment globally.
