Cape Grace, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, has reopened after nine months of renovations. Located on the V&A Waterfront, the hotel has been redesigned by interior and architecture firm 1508 London.
Each of the hotel’s 112 rooms and suites sports large French windows or balconies that look out onto either the marina or the backdrop of Table Mountain. The stand-out suite is the two-bedroom Cape Grace Suite. It has a terrace, a lounge and a dining area with a private bar and butler’s pantry.
The new restaurant Heirloom offers a Tasting Menu totaling seven courses that utilize locally sourced ingredients. The new dining experiences also include a Pool Bar, the Library Lounge for traditional afternoon tea and pre- or post-dinner drinks in the evenings, as well as the revamped Bascule Bar & Lounge, known for its whiskey collection and wine cellar.
At the Fairmont Spa at Cape Grace, guests can enjoy a range of treatments. These include tailored bath rituals, jet lag recovery, detox massages, a salt room experience, guided meditation and a variety of curated packages.
Located on the doorstep of the city’s cultural, culinary and historical landmarks, Cape Grace originally opened in 1996. In its new chapter, the hotel will build on its legacy of playing host to luminaries from the world of politics, film and business, offering a new era of hospitality and serving as an ideal location from which to explore the best of South Africa.
