Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom Relais & Châteaux property tucked away on the Ayrshire coast, Scotland, has launched a new two-night package inspired by “Downton Abbey,” available to book until March 2025. In anticipation of the third film, set to launch this year, Glenapp Castle is inviting guests to step back in time into the Edwardian era with its new offering, “Regal Elegance: A Downton Abbey-Inspired Escape.” Built in 1870, the property has expansive private grounds, manicured gardens, local woodland to explore and more.
Upon arrival at Glenapp Castle, guests will be welcomed by the property’s team of butlers. They can enjoy an afternoon tea experience, complete with specialty teas and sweet treats. Once settled, guests can relax in their Castle Bedroom Suites, designed with period furnishings.
Guests can start their day at Glenapp Castle with a traditional, Scottish breakfast before embarking on a morning stroll in the property’s Italian garden, designed by horticulturist Gertrude Jekyll. Days can be spent enjoying Glenapp Castle’s 70-plus activities and experiences program, offering a range of Edwardian-era pastimes on the estate, be it an afternoon tennis match or a game of croquet. Guests can also enjoy lessons on Edwardian etiquette taught by their butler, with the opportunity to practice the decorum expected at any Downton dinner party, in preparation for their evening ahead.
In the evening, guests can enjoy a sparkling champagne reception and a seven-course feast at the castle.
Guests booking the new package will enjoy:
- A personal welcome
- Two nights’ accommodation in a Castle Bedroom Suite
- Afternoon Tea experience
- A tour of the local estate and gardens
- An Edwardian etiquette lesson from your butler
- A seven-course dinner with champagne drinks reception & canapés
- A selection of outdoor activities to enjoy including croquet and tennis
