Oetker Collection has announced the appointment of Aleksandra Vukojevic as the new managing director at Jumby Bay Island.
Combining hotel management, project and development, Vukojevic played a key role in the openings of Shangri-La Hotels in Canada and France and brought her expertise to some of their Asian properties. She joined Oetker Collection in 2014, leveraging successful tactics from her previous roles to lead the project management for the opening of Palácio Tangará in São Paulo in 2017. Later that year, she was instrumental in the reflagging of Jumby Bay Island. She will now be permanently relocating to the private island following her appointment as managing director.
Born in Croatia, Vukojevic graduated from the University of Medicine and started her career as a medical doctor. After moving to Vancouver in 1997, she began her career in the hotel industry.
Jumby Bay is home to a spa, sophisticated restaurants and bars, beach-front suites and an ocean-front infinity pool. The island has two excellent sunbathing beaches, Jumby Bay Beach and Pasture Beach, plus winding paths lined with palm trees ideal for walking or biking.
Earlier this year, Luxury Travel Advisor hosted a roundtable of Oetker Collection executives at our Manhattan office to discuss what luxury really is and how it’s always changing. We were joined by Frank Marrenbach, CEO, Oetker Collection; Joelle Edwards-Tonks, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Oetker Collection; Celso do Valle, Palacio Tangara – Sao Paulo; Sandro Fabris, Jumby Bay Island and Fabrice Moizan, Eden Rock-St Barths.
