Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced the debut of Rosewood Munich, its inaugural property in Germany. Spanning two buildings, the property is housed within the former Bavarian State Bank headquarters and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, originally an aristocratic residence.
The hotel offers 73 guestrooms and 59 suites, including five houses, or signature suites. The houses offer a residential style of living, with various options that can accommodate up to four bedrooms. The houses include objets d’art and bespoke crockery, custom-crafted for each house by the Royal Palace of Nymphenburg. Notably, Prinzessin Ferdinande House has a suspended glass bridge connecting its living areas, offering guests a perch above the streets of Munich. The König Maximillian House, the largest among the residences, has a vaulted ceiling and a central fireplace that connects the living and dining areas, creating an ideal space for hosting family and friends.
Culinary offerings encompass the lobby lounge, full-service brasserie, the Wintergarten, the exterior Palaishof and a bar. At Cuvilliés, guests can savor classic brasserie fare infused with the heritage of the Alpine region. Bar Montez impresses guests with its mixology program, a unique interior, a curated art collection and live jazz performances. Across the F&B venues, majority of all ingredients are sourced from the local Alpine region, which encompasses Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The Rosewood Munich team has also partnered with its future sister property, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, which has its own castle fishery from which the property sources fresh fish.
The hotel is home to Germany’s first Asaya Spa. Spanning over two floors and covering 13,993 square feet, the spa offers bespoke treatments via brand partnerships with Dr. Barbara Sturm, OTO, Ground Wellbeing and EviDenS de Beauté. The spa houses an indoor pool, dual saunas, herbal steam room and six treatment rooms, including a Social House wellness suite, plus an Asaya atelier with a retail selection and a fitness center with a movement studio.
Rosewood Munich offers more than 6,450 square feet of indoor meeting space. The hotel houses six event spaces located in the Palais Neuhaus-Preysing. These include a 2,519-square-foot Grand Ballroom, a historic junior ballroom, and four flexible meeting and breakout rooms.
