Porto Giunco
This is a beach second to none. A forest of eucalyptus trees leads to a tropical sea, a long coastline of sand and the pond of Notteri behind, where it is easy to see the pink flamingos, who have chosen this as their habitat.
How to reach it
Leaving from Cagliari take the SS 125 to Villasimius. After passing the pond of Notteri, follow the directions to the beach, which is accessible by walking through a path within a forest of eucalyptus trees.
Giudeu
Overlooking the Bay of Chia, along with other beaches, it creates a long coastline of white sand, a sea of ??dreams and very high dunes. This beach offers many services and owes its name to the islet of Giudeu, just 150 meters from the shore.
How to reach it
Take the Strada Statale Panoramica 195, characterized by numerous descents to the various beaches in the area: to reach Giudeu you need to follow the signs indicating the beach on your left side.
Cala Sinzias

How to reach
Leaving from Cagliari, it is advisable to take the signs for Muravera. Once on the new SS125, take the exit for Villasimius – Costa Rei – Castiadas, turn for Costa Rei, proceed straight on the SP 18 and at the big crossroads turn left for Costa Rei – Muravera. After about 500 meters you can find the beach of Monte Turno on the right.
Cala Luna
In the Gulf of Orosei, this beach was chosen as the set for the movie “Swept Away “, directed by the director Lina Wertmuller in 1974, and this says it all about the extraordinary beauty of the place. It is defined by many as the most beautiful beach in the Mediterranean for the extraordinary setting of the six grottos that open over the shore, the woods of oleander, and the beautiful wild valley that extends behind the beach. The beach of Cala Luna has clear coarse sand mixed with stones, transparent and clear water, and is characterized by shallow waters, allowing children to play in the water.
How to reach it
You can reach it by the sea with a private boat or with boats departing from the port of Cala Gonone and the beach of Marina di Orosei; for hiking lovers, the beach is reached through a difficult path, starting from Cala Fuili or Baunei.
Cala Cipolla
Cala Cipolla is in fact a small cove (about 200 meters) with pristine waters and fine sand. The place is known and appreciated by many and is one of the pearls of the is one of the Chia Bay. You can find pine and juniper trees right by the beach which will bless you with some shade during the hot hours of the day.
How to reach it
Leaving from Cagliari, go along the SS195 main road in the direction of Teulada. Turn right towards Chia and continue for a few kilometres until the indicators for the beaches are seen. Once at the large car park, it is necessary to go on foot for around 100 meters to reach the cove.
Marina Di Orosei
The beach of Marina di Orosei is inserted in the Gulf of Orosei, and extends for 2 kilometres, with clear and fairly fine sand, mixed with a lot of shells. Behind it, there is the Cedrino Pond, rich in birdlife. The waters are clear and of a changing light blue colour, with an evocative light. The sea is deep, with a thick steep entrance, the beach is almost never crowded and there aren’t any aquatic plants.
